Fantastic news – I now have G704 ‘The PAN Junior Crossword Puzzle Book’ which reduces my wants list to 2. So if anyone out there has the ‘Third Junior Crossword Book’ or ‘The Boston Strangler’ but NOT the edition with Tony Curtis on the front please get in touch as I’m sure there is room for negotiation.

Congrats Tim on finding this book. Not many to go now. Also just wondering if you’ve seen the links on this website: http://www.theaccidentalbookshop.com . I’m not sure if you’d also communicated with the website owner but I did and I let them know told about your website. Hope it helps, Cheers Bazeer
Hi Bazeer, Many thanks for the congrats and getting the site a plug on another site. It’s always nice to know when at least one other person, apart from the wife, has read a post. Keep in touch, Tim
Hi Tim
That certainly clarifies things.
As most of the missing X numbers are in the 600s and are two numbers apart, it would seem that for a while the people at PAN took their eye off the ball.
I’m in Melbourne next month, so will look out for the missing titles

Hi Tim
Congratulations on your latest acquisition.
I see that there are some numbers (eg X640) where the book title is unknown.
Does this mean you don’t have these books yet?
Can’t Pan simply tell you what the missing titles are? They seem to have been helpful in the past
Stuart
Hi Stuart,
Now I don’t want to sound big headed but PAN actually use my list as it’s much better than the one they originally sent me (and mine is a spreadsheet not a text file) The list of unknows are probably titles that were intended but never issued or more likely a bit of a mistake. The only one that appears on a PAN list with a title is M160 ‘Childbirth Without Fear’ but they admit they never got around to actually printing it with that number. I don’t think they were that careful with the numbers considering how many duplicted ones there are as well. To track down ones not known I have gone through the list of titles in other books, looked in the PAN Record magazines, gone through both the British Library and Cambridge Universary catalogues and gone through all the booksellers catalogues I can find (and it helps if they include a scan of the cover) If you do manage to track down any please let me know as I’ve drawn a blank so far.
